Artist: Jamal Igle
Subject: John Blacksad
Date: November 22, 2010
Location: Toronto ComiCon, MTCC North Building, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Note(s): For me, at least, the most impressive part was watching Jamal draw this sketch of John Blacksad without any type of physical reference material.
The Death and Delirium Collection
Artist: Marc Hempel
Subject: Death
Date: June 3, 2010
Location: Baltimore, Maryland, USA
Note(s): A chance to get on Marc’s commission list in the early spring leads to this amazing piece.
The Death and Delirium Collection
Artist: Mahmud Asrar
Subject: Death

Location: C2E2, McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.
Artist: Alex Maleev
Subject: Scarlet
Date: August 29, 2010
Location: Fan Expo Canada, MTCC North Building, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Note(s): Alex is one of my favourite artists. He is is also one of my favouite people in comics. I was blown away by this piece. The scan does not do it justice.
I accidentally scanned it in black & white and WOW!
The Death and Delirium Collection
Artist: Tom Fowler
Subject: Sandman’s The Endless – Destruction, Delirium, Death and Dream with Mervyn Pumpkinhead
Date: March 3, 2010
Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Note(s): After Tom went above and beyond in his first commission piece I just had to get a second one. Took me awhile to come up with a suitable subject for him but it all fell into place once I saw this Destruction piece.
Death, Delirium and the iconic Abbey Road image were my only instructions. And as always, Tom doesn’t disappoint with adding his little humourous touches (check out Mervyn) that I wasn’t expecting.

Artist: Tom Hodges
Subject: Princess Leia Organa (Star Wars)
Date: March 27, 2010
Location: WW Toronto, Direct Energy Centre, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Note(s): Wow, been a long time since I posted an update.
Here’s one from Tom Hodges whose work I became familiar with primarily due to his appearances on the Comic Geeks Speak podcasts. I’m actually not a Star Wars fan but I did have a little crush on Leia back in the day.

Spider-Man by Agnes Garbowska
Artist: Agnes Garbowska
Subject: Spider-Man
Date: April 21, 2009
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Note(s): Commissioned last year as a gift for Brian and Sarah’s son, Daniel. Happy Birthday, Daniel!
‘Tusi #: 078
Artist: Kelly Tindall
Subject: Carnage (Amazing Spider-Man)
Date: February 28, 2010
Location: Winter Toronto Comicon, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Note(s): Been wanting to get a Tindall contribution for a little while now but either missed his sketching times (TCAF) or just not being able to get away from my duties to enjoy myself (Fan Expo). Of course when I finally get the opportunity I get busy at the con and have no time to chat with him. And I come of looking aloof or, worse, an ungrateful asshat. So my apologies to Kelly. I really do appreciate the Carnage piece. And I especially dig the “hand coming out of the border” bit.

Note(s): This just might be my favourite DTB yet. The smile infectious, no?
