Note(s): We left for the NYCC a couple of days before the show. Arriving at JFK, we picked up our luggage and started to head towards the taxi stand when we heard a lady comment, ” I think they are going to the con.” Turning toward the voice, we immediately recognized two comic book legends, Walter and Louise Simonson. They were waiting for Jon Bogdanove and his son Kal-El’s flight to arrive.
We stopped and chatted with them for a little bit. A very nice couple. Turns out that it has been almost 30 years since they were last in Toronto. Maybe they might want to come up for the Fan Expo Canada show in August……?
