Notes: Mahmud was one of my 3 ‘must have’ artists (Afua Richardson and Ricardo Burchielli being the other two) appearing at the 2009 New York Comic Con. I first ‘discovered’ his gorgeous artwork in the pages of Dynamo 5 and I was really hoping to add his talents to my Doing the Batusi collection.
I found Mahmud at his table late Friday night as the show closed to arrange the sketch and was lucky to score a spot on his list. I picked up the piece on Sunday – his Scrap DTB did not disappoint!
